João W. Nery, was a Brazilian writer, psychologist, and LGBT activist. He is known to be the first transgender man to have undergone gender reassignment surgery in Brazil; it took place in 1977.

61% of Brazilian LGBTI+ people have to hide their sexuality at the companies they work for because of fear of losing their jobs. The trans community is the most affected - 90% of trans people in Brazil work in prostitution because they have an immense difficult on finding other jobs.

Project

Teacher education and training programs for the trans community. The organization already develops education and training programs and makes some leadership training for the LGBTQIA+ community. With the money raised they will be able to invest in these programs and train more students.
